Global Development Trends and Technology Forecast of 11 Types of High-Performance Fibers - Aramid III
Aramid III possesses higher strength and modulus, better impact resistance, flame retardancy, and thermal-oxidative aging resistance compared to para-aramid, along with lower dielectric constant and dielectric loss, and superior composite properties. It finds important high-end applications in areas such as winding, impact-resistant and structural wave-transparent composites, and optical fiber/cable reinforcement. It has been batch-used in fields like intercontinental missile engine casings, helicopter skins, individual helmets, and military/police body armor. Currently, Russia's Aramid III remains the world leader, being the only country capable of mass-producing Aramid III. Compared to international counterparts, China's range of Aramid III products is relatively limited, primarily consisting of high-strength and high-modulus types, and lacks differentiated varieties with performance tailored for specific applications.
