This product is a high-performance inorganic fiber manufactured from high-purity silicon dioxide or
natural quartz crystals.It retains many of the inherent properties and characteristics of solid quartz. It serves as an excellent
high temperature-resistant material and is utilized as a reinforcing agent in advanced composite materials.
Its exceptionally high purity (≥99.95%) endows it with a range of superior attributes, including
outstanding ablation resistance, excellent thermal stability, low thermal conductivity, and high chemical
stability; furthermore, it exhibits exceptional dielectric properties.
In terms of the manufacturing process, quartz fibers are first produced as continuous filaments through high-temperature melting;
these filaments then undergo subsequent stages such as drawing, cooling, and surface treatment before finally being cut into chopped strands of various lengths to meet specific application requirements.
The typical length range generally falls between a few millimeters and several tens of millimeters, a parameter that can be adjusted to suit the processing techniques of the composite materials in which they are used.
This chopped form facilitates easier dispersion and mixing, making it particularly well-suited for the fabrication of reinforced composite materials.
