Polyphenylene Sulfide (PPS) fiber is a polymeric material with a molecular backbone composed of benzene rings and sulfur atoms arranged alternately in a para-position, resulting in a highly regular structure.

It possesses a good combination of properties including mechanical strength, heat resistance, and chemical corrosion resistance. PPS fiber is one of the few commercially available high-performance fibers that can be processed via melt spinning. 

It serves as a fundamental material for the core components of bag filtration systems used in high-temperature, corrosive flue gas treatment in thermal power plants and waste incineration plants, characterized by high filtration precision (PM10.0, PM2.5) and long service life (4 years). 

Companies like Toray and Toyobo of Japan have conducted in-depth research and mastered the production technology of high-quality PPS staple fiber, monopolizing the global market for PPS staple fiber and accounting for over 80% of global production.

In recent years, through the adoption of nanocomposite modification technology, China has further enhanced the overall performance of PPS fibers, breaking the foreign monopoly on high-quality PPS fibers. 

This provides China's high-temperature filtration industry with PPS series products offering the best cost-performance ratio, offering crucial support for enhancing the industry's market competitiveness, maintaining domestic leadership, and exploring international markets.

As a new foundational material for thermal protection equipment, the development of PPS nanocomposite fibers can break the foreign monopoly on materials for special protective equipment, reduce the cost of high-end protective gear, and increase the prevalence of thermal protection equipment in harsh environments within China's petrochemical, metal smelting, and emergency rescue sectors. 

The market demand is significant, and its development is of great importance for promoting the R&D of personal protective equipment and improving emergency rescue capabilities in China.
