SART50-T15 Fiberglass Roofing Tissue (50g/m²)

No shrinkage at 200°C. Fast bitumen soak. Zero line snaps.

SAXOBRAN® We design SART50-T15 directly for hot bitumen bath lines. Our team found that cheap mats shrink or snap when hot asphalt hits them. This 50g/m² mat solves that. It stays flat, drinks bitumen fast, and keeps your coating thickness perfectly even. You run your line faster, drop your scrap rates, and get zero leaks in your final SBS or APP membranes.

Industrial Pain Points Solved

Fiberglass Roofing Tissue

Fiberglass

Mat Shrinkage and Edge Curling in Hot Bitumen

  • High asphalt heat makes weak mats shrink or curl at the edges. This causes uneven coating, spills bitumen onto rollers, and ruins the whole roll.

  • High-grade borosilicate fibers do not warp under intense heat.Holds exact dimensions at temperatures up to 200°C to keep your line running wide.

High-Speed Web Snaps Under Tension

  • When the pulling motor jerks, weak mats tear instantly. Your crew must stop the hot machine, clean the mess, and thread the line again.

  • Heavy-duty urea-formaldehyde binder locks every strand together. Withstands machine pulling force up to 200 N/50mm to stop sudden line breaks.

Engineered Characteristics

Fiberglass

Clean, Flat Sheet Surface

Keeps the final asphalt coating layer completely smooth for smooth shingle stacking.

Fiberglass Roofing Tissue

Instant Bitumen Wet-Out

Absorbs hot SBS, APP, or PVC compounds in less than 1.5 seconds without dry spots.

Fiberglass

High Tensile Stability

Keeps its shape and stays straight under high web tension when rolling or unrolling.

Processing, Packaging & Logistics Quality

1

Temperature Range

Store inside a dry warehouse between 5°C to 45°C.

2

Humidity Limits

Keep relative humidity below 70% to protect the binder coat.

3

Stacking Security

Keep rolls standing upright on stable pallets. Do not stack pallets more than 2 layers high to protect roll ends.

Global Supply Chain Securement

  • Roll & Core Construction: Wound onto extra-thick 102mm (4-inch) plastic or heavy paper tubes to prevent roll flattening.

  • Sealed Barrier Packaging: Sealed tight inside tough PE bags to block outside air and sea moisture during shipping.

  • Anti-Shifting Loading: Pallets are tightly wrapped in multi-layer stretch film with hard cardboard corner blocks.

Technical Q&A

Q: Why does SART50-T15 absorb bitumen faster than standard polyester mats?

  • A: Polyester fibers are solid plastic and tend to repel hot asphalt at first. SART50-T15 uses glass fibers coated in a special porous binder. This binder acts like a sponge for hot oils, letting the asphalt sink deep into the core instantly.

Q: Can we run this mat on our old PVC roofing extrusion lines?

  • A:Yes. Just check your line tension. This mat is rigid and does not stretch like polyester. If your line pulls too hard on startup, you must turn down the tension brakes slightly to match the low-stretch nature of glass fiber.

Q: What is the risk if a roll gets damp in storage before use?

  • A:  If the mat absorbs water, that water turns to steam instantly inside a 200°C bitumen bath. This creates large bubbles and pinholes in your final membrane. If a roll gets wet, do not use it until you dry it completely.
